Time flies when you’re a photographer – I think the first time I photographed Tamra and her kids (they were just kids back then) was in 2007…ironically at the beach. Life certainly has changed over the last 6 years and it has been a joy to watch kids become teens and love grow into this beautiful family.
Here is their video with even more photos from the day:
The pink bougainvillea was so stunning there was no way we could ignore it on our way down to the beach and so we had a volunteer to pose for us with the pink.
The weather was stunning at Wind N Sea beach in La Jolla, CA. A little mist but nothing like the normal fog that can consume the area at the blink of an eye.
Everyone was great! We know it isn’t easy being in high school or middle school and asked to snuggle up with your family so we really appreciated that they weren’t afraid to be close to each other.
Life at the photoshoot really wasn’t too difficult, forced to lounge in sand on a beautiful sunny day, hardly anyone else at the beach since it was a week day during the off season. Absolutely no complaints from our end. We were happy to be in the soft sand taking photos too – not many beaches like this in Seattle.
The large rocks provided some great posing props.
The only sad part was the graffiti, which we removed for the photos, it is pretty amazing how great nature can be.
Wind n Sea lived up to its name for a bit providing that fun wind blown hair look. Her hair reminded me of octopus tentacles as they flowed in the salty air.
Being the only son it was a nice moment to escape the girls and take a walk along the shore.
As a senior in high school and the oldest of the family, finding a spot all to herself just to relax and enjoy the sounds of the ocean were all we could ask for.
Our jobs wouldn’t be complete without at least one fun crazy photos and the youngest was in the jumping mood.
The photoshoot ended with a surge – literally :) we were at the end just playing around when a wave and surprised us all…none of our equipment got wet but we certainly did from waist down. It wasn’t too bad considering the warm sun had us sweating.
